Have a Great Time at the Disney Campground in Orlando!
Walt Disney World Resort at Orlando, Florida has many fine amenities and one of them is Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, which opened in 1971. The Disney Campground is great fun, giving families a taste of the backwoods life within the theme park. Trees are dotted round the area of 784 campsites and 409 cabins, designed in log cabin style. The campsites are suitable for tents and RVs.
This is camping in comfort and the sites contain showers, laundry facilities and restrooms. The RVs are hooked up to the sewer, cable, water and electric supply. Campers can use a charcoal grill and sit round the picnic table. The cabins on the Disney Campground are air conditioned and have fully equipped kitchens and there is a patio deck and a dining table to seat six people.
There is plenty to do to keep adults and kids entertained. Pontoon boats and canopy boats are available to rent out on the lake and bikes are for rent too. Another way to explore the campground is to hire an electric cart. For keen walkers, there are exercise trails and there are opportunities for fishing and horseback riding. There are hard surface tennis courts where lessons can be booked and a video and pinball games arcade. Campers can also just relax on a white sand beach. A baby sitting service enables parents to go out on their own. Restaurants offer sit down meals and buffets and there is a snack shop. Marshmallows and s'mores can be roasted at the firepits.
The kids enjoy the playgrounds and there are two heated swimming pools and a petting farm on the Disney Campground. The whole family can enjoy two dinner shows, named the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and Mickey's Backyard BBQ. The BBQ takes place in a barn and campers get the chance to talk to Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters. A country and western band play and a cowboy performs tricks with a lasso rope. The food includes smoked chicken, hot dogs or pork ribs, followed by ice cream.
Every night brings a free campfire sing-along with the famous chipmunks, Chip 'n' Dale. The audience has the chance to meet them and the sing-along takes place at an outdoors amphitheatre. After the singing has finished, staff set up a Disney movie on a big, outdoor screen. The Disney Campground is an imaginative way of combining a nostalgic, pioneer spirit and the lovable Disney characters.
